You own or sell classic cars
and need professional
pictures of them?
When I planned my bachelor thesis "Fascination Car Design" some years ago,
I had the opportunity to shoot many rare and precious cars in the BMW Museum and BMW Collection.
As I wasn't able to move most of the classics, I was forced to set-up my lighting system to be very flexible, so I could easily photograph several cars a day in the museum, as most of them were in an ongoing exhibition.
For this purpose, I established a very mobile lighting kit that enabled me to shoot cars in a very short time without a studio.
Two years later, I was asked to photograph about 20 classic cars for the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf. This time, all cars were spread over different collections and we had a tight deadline.
So I used the same technique to photograph the classics in various garages and workshops of the owners and, to generate an equal look for the exhibition catalogue, fitted them in the same digital background afterwards.
The results were very consistent motifs, even though the cars were shot at different locations.
For owners & collectors: The »any location photo solution« for your car collection – on-site photography wherever you choose; garage, workshop or just in front of your doorstep.
So if you're a collector or dealer and are not able to move your classic or you own a rare one-off and you are in fear that a transfer to a photo studio could damage your precious car, then I am your photographer of choice!
And, if you are an auction house, where a coherent look of your sale objects is needed, I can provide you with consistent backgrounds through different shootings.
But you don't want to move your collectibles?
How much time do we need?
I use a technique which is called "multiple exposures". I lighten the car part for part until the essentials are exposed and afterwards I combine the different images in post-production. The time we save while shooting (usually only half an hour per motif) will be added to the editing of the images. So you don't need to block a whole day for one car shooting.
